Vigilantes isn't insanely great on its battles, There were definitely some lows at the start, being a bit of a "villain of the chapter" where a bunch is just Koichi finds villain, can't actually fight him, so just sorta exists until Aizawa, CC or Knuckle appears. This also means Koichi has basically no character development. MHA had some great hightlights but damn are the lows low. Basically Vigilantes is the Clone Wars to MHA's main series, which is most certainly not bad company to be in, but there is a different rubric you have to grade against. In Vigilantes, most characters do for better protagonists, so they are given the spotlight for their own arcs, in detriment of Koichi. I also love how it's the same universe of shows two different kinds of heroes and their stories existing without issue, just like Marvel and DC themselves do. I really love it. It focuses more on a group of vigilantes in one specific part of town dealing with crime that rarely gets heroes involved (low level drug dealers, back alley brawls, random individuals causing problems).
